Robstown ISD Facilities Nominations Committee Requests
Public Input for Naming New Elementary School
The Robstown ISD Facilities Nominations Committee is requesting public input into the naming of the new elementary school scheduled to open at the start of next school year. In part, Board Policy CW (LOCAL) states:
(1) Facilities may be named after persons who have served the District or community.
(2) Facilities may be named after any local, state, or national heroic figure.
(3) Facilities may be named after any local, state, or national geographic area.
Each person whose name is considered must have made a significant contribution to society and/or education, and the name should lend prestige and status to an institution of learning.
Deadline for nominations & supporting documentation is 12:00 noon on May 21, 2012.

The committee is comprised of six outstanding servant-leaders: Dr. Rumaldo Z. Juarez, President Emeritus, Texas A & M-Kingsville, Chairman of the Committee; Mr. Pablo Avila, Vice-President, RISD Board of Trustees; Mrs. Sylvia Benavides, Asst. Principal, Ortiz Intermediate School; Mrs. Hilda Emanuel, Teacher, Hattie Martin Elementary School; Mr. Edwin Benavides, President, RHS Student Council; and the Rev. Bence Reyes, Pastor.
